About Our Operation
Our program at Royal Anchor Red Angus works. After 61 years in the cattle business, it is time for us to retire. All our cows and bred heifers are for sale by private treaty.
While we were in commercial cattle we found that the more Angus cross in the cattle we used, the better the market results. Any Red Angus based cattle gave a much broader use of cross breeding, the acceptable color, and higher performance. This resulted in more demand for female replacements and easy fleshing feeders. Knowing this, we decided to raise Registered Purebred Red Angus.
We have always used proven bloodlines when purchasing Herd Sires. Our first great bull was a son of FCC Rambo 502. His mom, Barlee, was a total maternal Leachman cow. He worked for us for 8 years. Other bloodlines are Brieber Design, Super Dimension, Sandstone, Red Rod C Copy, Robin Hood, and Young Gun. Also, bulls from Cattle Creek Ranching for our bred heifers. We have added more dark color which results in darker feet and better traveling cattle. In 2012, our Herd Bulls were turned into breeding pastures on July 1st. Our herd sires are used on the heifers before going onto the cowherd. This gives us positive proven results for calving ease.
All of our customers prefer low maintenance, longevity, and moderate to easy calving. Our maternal herd is bred to produce active Red Angus calves that fit into a replacement cow herd.
This is a great opportunity for a genuine Breeder to cash in on one of the few maternal herds in the Red Angus business. You're welcome to stop in and see our herd anytime.
